The Los Angeles Design Festival took place June 8th-11th, 2017, honoring LA’s status as a global design capital. This year’s festival centered on City Market South in the fashion district and ROW DTLA, but included a variety of events across the Greater Los Angeles Area such as lectures, mixers and installations.

On opening night, June 8th, 5+design co-hosted The Scene at Orange, a one-night, open-house collective involving creative industry leaders in architecture, fashion, music and art. Along with creative neighbors High Fidelity, Libra Leather and LAXArt, 5+ paid homage to the creative legacy of LA, inviting the community to mix and mingle through the studios of North Orange in Hollywood. Drinks, video clips of Old Hollywood, music, and of course a food truck rounded out this night and kicked off a full weekend of creative events throughout LA.

LA Design Festival is just one of many design weeks and festivals that creates a shared narrative across the world. Though longest standing of these take place in recognized design centers like NYC, Milan and London.  5+ looks forward to the 3rd annual Dubai Design Week, November 13th-18th.
