5+design was tapped by Atlanta-based Portman Holdings to work on its latest development taking shape in the downtown Arts District of Dallas. The Dallas Gateway Development will soon bring several new mixed-use high-rise towers to the district, encompassing nearly 900 residential units, 400,000 square feet of offices, and 50,000 square feet of retail space surrounding a new public plaza facing onto Ross Avenue.
The high-rises will be adjacent to the Arts District between Ross and San Jacinto Street, and its tallest building of 50 floors will include retail, office, and luxury units. To increase a range of residential offerings, the project is also planned to have 384 micro apartments — small rental units designed to provide more affordable housing.
With its wide range of uses, the three-tower project marks one of the largest such developments proposed for the downtown Dallas area.
