In much the same way that the port of Izmir has connected Turkey with international trade routes over the centuries, Izmir Turan will link the metropolitan districts of the country’s third-largest city to an all-new waterfront development. Set between the Gulf of Izmir on the Aegean Sea and the Atatürk Forest, the mixed-use project will replace an abandoned warehouse area with an two-level retail center, a 25-story high-end residential tower and a 37-story live/work office tower, in addition to a marina and pier. But even as Turan paves the way for a vibrant revival of the site, it will also honor the past by preserving two historic homes – one in a park and one along the water – to be converted into restaurants.
Each tower unit will feature large balconies with views of the water to the south and trees to the north. The roof of the retail complex will include private gardens, a swimming pool and tennis courts. Fountains and reflecting pools threaded throughout the project will allude to the sea.
